Dr. Beena Hameed is a highly experienced Consultant Rheumatologist and Internal Medicine physician with more than 30 years of clinical, academic, teaching, and research experience across the United Kingdom, Pakistan, and the United Arab Emirates. She currently serves as a Consultant Rheumatologist at Mediclinic Parkview Hospital, Dubai.

Dr. Hameed completed her MBBS and FCPS in Pakistan before moving to the United Kingdom, where she obtained her MRCP and subsequently completed specialist training in Rheumatology and General Internal Medicine. She was awarded CCST in Rheumatology and Internal Medicine in 2008. She also holds an MSc in Rheumatology and a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education. Her specialist expertise includes musculoskeletal ultrasound, with advanced training in diagnostic and interventional MSK ultrasound in the UK, UAE, and Europe.

Throughout her career, Dr. Hameed has held senior consultant positions at leading hospitals in Dubai and the UK, including King’s College Hospital Dubai, Al Zahra Hospital Dubai, Mediclinic Dubai, Emirates Specialty Hospital, Fakeeh University Hospital, and Homerton University Hospital in London. Her clinical interests encompass inflammatory arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, systemic autoimmune and connective tissue diseases, systemic sclerosis, musculoskeletal disorders, and the use of musculoskeletal ultrasound in diagnosis and intervention.

Dr. Hameed has a strong academic and educational profile. She is an Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor at Gulf Medical University and has previously served as an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences and as a Senior Clinical Lecturer at Queen Mary’s Medical School in London. She has extensive experience teaching undergraduate and postgraduate doctors, supervising foundation doctors, delivering PACES teaching, and serving as an OSCE examiner.

Her research interests have focused particularly on rheumatoid arthritis, musculoskeletal ultrasound, treatment response and resistance, systemic sclerosis, and inflammatory rheumatic diseases. She has served as Principal Investigator on NIHR/EME-funded research projects and has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, as well as presenting her work at major international rheumatology meetings, including those of the British Society for Rheumatology and EULAR.

Dr. Hameed is actively involved in professional leadership and rheumatology education. She is a Board Member of the GCC Association of Immunology and Rheumatology and has been a regular invited speaker at regional and international rheumatology conferences. She has served as Conference Chair for the Middle East Rheumatology Conference and continues to contribute to the development of rheumatology education and clinical practice in the region.

With a combination of extensive clinical expertise, advanced musculoskeletal ultrasound skills, academic leadership, research experience, and a strong commitment to medical education, Dr. Hameed is recognised as an experienced and respected rheumatology specialist in the UAE and internationally.
