Prof. Augusto Vaglio is Associate Professor of Nephrology at the University of Florence, Italy, where he also serves as Director of the postgraduate fellowship program in Nephrology. He graduated with highest honors from the University of Parma, completed specialist training in Nephrology, earned a PhD, and undertook a postdoctoral fellowship at Emory University, USA. His clinical and research interests focus on immune-mediated kidney and systemic diseases, including ANCA-associated vasculitis, IgG4-related disease, Erdheim-Chester disease, retroperitoneal fibrosis, and systemic lupus erythematosus. Prof. Vaglio has authored more than 320 peer-reviewed publications, with over 17,000 citations and an h-index of 70. He is an active member of several international vasculitis and rare disease organizations and serves as Associate Editor of Nephrology Dialysis Transplantation.
